Funding

The Callander Bay Trumpeter Swan Program was made possible by a $72,700 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The funds will go towards the construction of a boardwalk leading into the marsh, several interpretive signs and a viewing platform to hopefully observe some of the 20 recently released Trumpeter Swans in the Callander Bay Cranberry Marsh.

The project also includes an awareness campaign. The web site, information brochures and signage will compliment the release of the swans and introduce the public to the issues affecting the health of the Trumpeter Swan population in North America.

The efforts of the LNPC are ongoing, and the scope and range of the LNPC’s operation is much wider than the Trumpeter Swan Program alone. Donations and/or volunteer time would be greatly appreciated. Community involvement and awareness are key to the success of the LNPC.
