Common Goals Of LTCA

Environmental Impact Issues:

  1. Maintain the best purity of water standard (Class 2) for Lake Talon.
  2. Provide liaison with MNR regarding a stable water level.
  3. Provide a responsible, single voice to represent the interests of all the lake users with various levels of government in light of continual reductions in government services.
  4. Provide an opportunity to maintain and improve the habitat of the lake for fishing and other forms of wildlife such as birds and game.
  5. Manage shoreline facilities for the enjoyment of all the lake users. (Examples: Blanchard's Landing Launching Ramp, Grasswell Point and Talon Chutes Campsites and Pine Lake Portage).
  6. Facilitate the development of fire protection services among the interested area associations on the lake such as Black Bay/Rice Bay, James Bay, Grey Rock, McCool Bay, Shields Point and Shields Bay.
  7. Provide input to relevant authorities involved in safety issues affecting boating, snowmobiling and hunting.

Membership Services:

  1. Serve as a forum to receive and disseminate information to all association members relating to land use issues such as Four Seasons Trails, Snowmobile Trails, Logging, Mining, Future Development, etc...
  2. Provide information to and a communication link for all association members.
  3. Benefit from the strength of membership in the Federation of Ontario Cottagers Association (a rapidly growing umbrella group for over 900 associations.
