Bird Feeding Tips

Spread Burlap under your feeder! In Spring, the snow will melt through and leave most shells, discarded seed, debris etc. on the burlap. A quick pick-up and most of the clean up is done.

Use several types of feeders and space than at least 15 feet apart. This will ensure you attract different species without excessive intimidation!

Always replace damp or moldy feed.

Keep feeders away from decks or concealing shrubbery to prevent cats from preying on your birds. Make sure your feeder stays filled.

Smearing peanut butter and seed mixture on the bark or branches is an inexpensive and easy way to attract many birds.

Keep suet out especially in cold weather. Use good quality beef suet.

Keep a log handy to record what you see. You'll be surprised at the number of different species you attract.
